GeoLife Ltd and PosiMotion LLC today announced the availability of Navmii personal turn-by-turn navigation for the iPod touch. The Navmii software, combined with PosiMotion's G-Fi mobile network/GPS router, provides turn-by-turn navigation in the iPod touch for the first time.
iPod touch owners with both the G-Fi hardware and Navmii software will be able to use their iPod touch for satellite navigation with smart routing, interactive maps and spoken directions.
PosiMotion's G-Fi streams a precise GPS signal to iPod touch. Like the Navmii software, the G-Fi is a one-time cost, with no additional monthly costs or charges. It supports the whole iPod touch and iPhone family, providing GPS from one G-Fi to up to 200 Apple devices simultaneously when in range. It also allows for data sharing and network multiplayer gaming between Apple devices.
Navmii is also available for iPhone 3G and 3GS from the Apple
