At SYS-CON Media, we don't do "predictions" but rather "projections." I am browsing through my November 9, 2009 dated blog entry.
Here is what I wrote then:
"We see our inventories are filling up to 100% capacity for the months of November, December, and January, and we are seeing better-than-normal RFP activity for the first quarter of 2010.
When I say this, I am comparing the current insertion order activity to the same period last year. We will be closing 2009 roughly 32% below 2008 in revenues (far better than any other tech media company), which forced us to reduce our expenses for the same period by around 40%. Last fall, while the world was falling apart, we were preparing for a 40%-45% drop in advertising revenues for 2009. We did better than our worst projections."

That was our 2010 projection two months ago. Today, as of January 28, 2010, we booked more revenue for 2010 than the entire fiscal year 2009 actuals, including unearned income with record sponsorship sales for the Cloud Expo East, Cloud Expo West and Cloud Expo Europe events.
Our revised revenue projections for 2010 are on track for an all-time record high since our company's inception in 1994, including media sales which were up in January from a year ago.
As I made a reference to sponsorship and expo sales, I encourage all of our sponsors to take the contract option 2 which includes the Cloud Expo 2010 East (New York City), Cloud Expo 2010 Europe (Prague, Czech Republic), and Cloud Expo 2010 West (Silicon Valley, California) events.
On Monday, February, 1, 2010, we will announce the venues for Cloud Expo 2010 Europe (June 21 -22, 2010, Prague, Czech Republic) and Cloud Expo 2010 West (November 1-3, 2010, Silicon Valley).
The Cloud Expo West event in Silicon Valley increased this year from 20,000 sq. ft. in 2009 to 80,000 sq. ft. expo floor space in 2010. Projected delegate count for Cloud Expo West increases from 2,200 in 2009 to over 6,000.
More important, the expo floor with the addition of large booths (20 x 20 and bigger) will be sold out before the conference date.
We will announce Cloud Computing Expo Europe sponsors in February for the 2nd International Cloud Computing Expo Europe event, with delegate participation projected to be triple that of 2009.
Last not but not least, we are excited to share with you that Cloud Computing Expo Tokyo and Cloud Computing Expo Hong Kong dates will be made public on the first day of the Cloud Expo Europe event in Prague!
