Great iPhone 4 Launch Day

iPhone 4 is Here!

So it was only two weeks ago in San Francisco, at Apple's WWDC, that the iPhone 4's launch date of June 24 was set in front of 5,200 Worldwide Developers (from 57 countries) and the World's Press, I was lucky enough to be their and take it from me, there was a very large throng of reporters and camera OB crews. For most of the countries able to launch today, the initial pre-order stock were exhausted in a matter of hours.

O2 Priests Lane London atmiddayMy relative, an avid Apple Fan and Devotee, Dan Voysey was at his local O2 store in London at 0600am, which is one of the smaller in central London and was lucky to join the line before it reached over 300 and lined up around the block. This picture on the left was taken at 1300hrs lunchtime on launch day. You can gauge the interest and dedication in London, these guys should be at lunch, before heading back to their desks. The opposite Vodafone store was showing iPhone 4 posters, but also a sign saying SOLD OUT! If you have read my reports over the last few days, you are already aware that I believe iPhone and iPad are becoming standard business equipment.

The largest Apple Store in the world, the Regent Street Apple Store London, was also reported to have been under siege by excited future iPhone 4 owners, reported at well over a thousand at its height. Again Apple's got it right... iPhone 4's launch really has been a success, following the release of iOS 4 on Monday June 21. I am expecting Apple to report the upgrade statistics of existing iPhone user to be very high within a short amount of time.

I am also expecting to see and hear similar reports today as the rest of the world embraces iPhone 4
