Today on Shelly Palmer Digital Living: Research In Motion, the nice people who make the BlackBerry, had a good day on Wall Street. Shares were up over 9 percent on the news that RIM has shipped a development version of BlackBerry 10, its new operating system.  Research In Motion now says that it is on track to release new devices based on the new BlackBerry 10 OS in the first quarter of next year.  Wall Street got all excited about this, but I’m pretty sure it’s too little, too late.  Corporate IT directors have not been sitting around waiting for BlackBerry to catch up, they have allowed workers to bring their own devices to work and have been happily integrating them into their enterprise systems.  So, unless BlackBerry 10 makes Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android OS look like stone axes and bear skins, there is very little chance that the BlackBerry will ever regain its stature.
