SAN JOSE, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/05/12 -- Technology Credit Union (Tech CU) announced today the successful launch of its new mobile check deposit service, an enhancement to the credit union's Mobile Banking application for the iPhone® and Android® smartphones.
Tech CU members can quickly, easily and securely deposit a check without leaving their home -- 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. (The app has been tested and certified by a leading mobile forensics and security firm.) Members simply endorse the back of the check, take a picture with their iPhone®, iPad3®, iPod Touch® or Android® smartphone, and then deposit the check using Tech CU's Mobile Banking application.
"Within two weeks of launching the service, Tech CU's members made nearly $700,000 in deposits using Mobile Deposit. We expect those numbers to grow exponentially," said Tech CU's SVP of Support Services Jeannie Sugaoka. "It's no secret that banking is going wireless. It's the future, and we intend to be a leader in offering technology-based services that give our members as many ways as possible to do their banking -- including mobile and online banking and access to more than 65,000 surcharge-free ATMs nationwide."
Tech CU's mobile banking application -- which received a 4.5/5 star rating by Apple App Store users -- offers the convenience of anytime, anywhere banking, including the ability to check balances and pay bills through Tech CU's Bill Pay branch and an ATM locator.
And there's more to come; according to Sugaoka, Tech CU has several new mobile banking initiatives in the works, including a partnership with PayPal, which will be announced in the next few months.
