Today, KelbyTraining.com, the publisher of Light It: The How-To Magazine for Studio Lighting and Off-Camera Flash, is pleased to announce the selection of Sylights as the magazine’s official lighting diagram provider. Launched in June 2010 as a small personal project, Sylights provides powerful educational and productivity tools to studio photographers.
Light It is published eight times a year as a digital magazine to be read on the iPad® and available at the iTunes® app store as a single issue or annual subscription. Written for both amateur and professional photographers, Light It was created to help photographers shoot the best images possible. With Sylights lighting diagrams added to the incredible how-to content the magazine offers, Light It readers can learn to more easily duplicate lighting setups used in the magazine in their own studio.
“We saw a need for lighting diagrams in Light It to help readers visualize the photo shoot setup. We entered a partnership with Sylights because its diagram editor is detailed, is easy to use, and provides us with a consistent look throughout the magazine,” said Mike Mackenzie, Light It’s managing editor.
“Building this partnership with Kelby Media Group was an enjoyable task. I can only expect it will get better when we join our efforts to provide photographers with quality learning material,” said Olivier Lance, co-founder of Sylights.
About Sylights
Today, at its community-driven website (Sylights.com), photographers can create and share lighting diagrams for others to learn and find inspiration. The diagrams can be created for free using Sylights’ online lighting diagram editor, or its iPhone and iPad apps.
About Light It
Launched in 2011 by Scott Kelby, president of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP) and KelbyTraining.com, Light It is the how-to resource for studio lighting and off-camera flash written for both amateur and professional photographers. KelbyTraining.com is a Kelby Media Group company.
Light It is produced using the Aquafadas Digital Publishing System, which allows magazine designers to create fully interactive apps and content for the iPad and iPhone by using the tools they are familiar with, Adobe® InDesign® and QuarkXPress®, and without requiring programming skills.
