SANTA BARBARA, CA and SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/06/12 -- RightScale® Inc., the leader in cloud computing management today, announced their expansion into Australia. The entry into the Australian market will provide local sales, support and professional services for the RightScale cloud management platform.
RightScale will bring its expertise in cloud computing to Australian companies looking to leverage the benefits of cloud services. The RightScale cloud management platform enables organizations to easily deploy and manage business-critical applications on public, private, and hybrid clouds. RightScale has more than 60,000 users worldwide and has been used to launch over 4.5 million cloud servers. RightScale powers many of the cloud's largest users with customers such as Sony Music, Pearson, Intercontinental Hotels Group, MOL (Money OnLine) and Zynga.
According to the October 2012 Cloud Computing Market Research Report from IBISWorld*, the adoption of a cloud-computing model is used for achieving economies of scale, enhancing information sharing speed and developing new services. In Australia this year, total industry revenue is expected to be $1.24 billion, up 7.8% on the previous year.
RightScale cloud management provides efficient configuration, monitoring, automation, and governance of cloud computing infrastructure and applications. RightScale provides large enterprises to start-ups with cloud computing management for business agility. RightScale is integrated with the leading public and private cloud providers including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Windows Azure, Rackspace Open Cloud, OpenStack and Citrix CloudStack along with others.
"We're entering the Australian market to build on our success in the APAC region," said Josh Fraser, Senior Vice President of Business Development and Sales at RightScale. "We believe strongly in the Australian market and we've already had early wins with customers. We plan to apply our collective experience from working with both early-adopter and large-scale customers to the Australian market thereby helping businesses deploy to the cloud with less risk and more agility."
"As a modern web-based company we chose the cloud for agility and to handle scaling events. We incorporated RightScale cloud management into our cloud strategy right from the beginning to automate and streamline our cloud deployments on AWS," stated Derek Clapham, Engineering Czar and Co-founder of PhotoMerchant. "We rely on the dynamic provisioning that RightScale provides. Using RightScale gives PhotoMerchant the ability to focus more on the development of our application instead of managing our cloud infrastructure."
RightScale Australia is headed up by Giri Fox, an IT veteran with a background in enterprise sales and client management at leading organizations such as Cisco, Apple and IBM.
"The Australian market is poised for greater cloud adoption. Our entry strategy will focus on companies that range from those just beginning to use cloud services to more sophisticated cloud computing users," commented Giri Fox, Country Manager at RightScale Australia. "The maturity of the RightScale cloud management solution will be attractive to companies that want to leverage cloud computing to launch new offerings, reduce costs or expand their business."
RightScale will be presenting at the Amazon Web Services Event on November 13, 2012. RightScale will lead a session entitled "Manage for Peak Performance with AWS" presented by Josh Fraser. Mr. Fraser will be joined by RightScale customer, PhotoMerchant Co-Founder, Derek Clapham. The event will be held at The Westin, 1 Martin Place, Sydney.
The RightScale Australia office will be located in Sydney. RightScale also has offices located in Singapore, Seoul, South Korea and Tokyo, Japan to serve the fast growing cloud computing market in Asia Pacific.
