NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 11/07/12 -- Viggle(SM) (OTCQB: VGGL), the loyalty program for TV, asked voters to get personal during election coverage and share thoughts on some of the questions not always asked in political polls -- but those for which we all secretly are dying to have answers. Crowdsourced from Viggle members and social media channels, Viggle LIVE allowed members to ask the questions while watching election news coverage.
Viggle sure learned a lot about its members -- as questions even got a little provocative at times. Turns out, 76% feel Michelle Obama has much better style than Ann Romney. Oh, and sorry Mitt, Viggle members have declared your running mate, Paul Ryan, is more dashing than you.
Other surprising Viggle LIVE findings include:
- 41% said Jon Stewart was the ultimate news crush!
- 68% felt Diane Sawyer was the blonde they'd prefer to get news from.
- 26% of Viggle LIVE players knew that President Lincoln was a bartender!
Overwhelmingly, Viggle members felt Obama won due to his progress on addressing economic challenges facing the country and that Romney lost due to his positions on social issues. Although 7% did say he lost because his hair was too perfect.
"Social TV is all about having fun with the shows or programs you're watching. The ability to interact, and get rewarded for those interactions, is transforming the way media is consumed," said Greg Consiglio, President and COO. "We saw the election night coverage as a great opportunity to engage with our members, letting them ask questions of other TV viewers through a real-time engagement platform and seeing how their opinions measured up against others -- after all, that's what social TV is all about!"
In addition, Viggle is running a campaign this week, encouraging members to turn their Viggle points into American Red Cross donations. Simply by tuning into election coverage, members were given the option to take points earned and donate them in support of Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. Viggle's fundraising campaign kicked off yesterday and so far has raised close to $15,000. Viggle will match all donations up to $20,000 this week.
