LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/08/12 -- Zumbox, powering the world's first digital postal system, today announced Chuck Teller has joined the company as SVP of market development and strategy. In his role, Teller will be responsible for identifying new industries that can be served by Digital Postal Mail (DPM) and developing relationships with strategic partners in the mailing ecosystem. The appointment supports Zumbox' strategic plan for 2013 to provide a way for consumers to effectively organize and archive transactional and direct mail forever, for free.
"Transactional mail has been a core part of our strategy since we started Zumbox, but we also knew the market would eventually shift toward a more robust mail experience and this is where Teller and his expertise will play a crucial role," said John Payne, CEO of Zumbox. "We're excited to have him join our team, as his proven track record of developing relationships with retailers, non-profits, universities and governments will enable us to bring a better way to organize all documents within American households."
Prior to Zumbox, Teller was chief strategy officer at TrustedID, a privacy and identity management company that acquired Catalog Choice in May 2012, where he was the executive director. At Catalog Choice, Teller lead the creation of the nation's largest consumer choice service by forming the partnerships that provide a way for consumers to manage their privacy and reduce the volume of unwanted mail, such as coupons and retail catalogs.
"Consumers struggle with organizing the various bills and statements they receive daily, and need a secure, private document storage system to solve their problems," said Teller. "Digital Postal Mail is that system, as it's automatically fed by the mail. We do all the heavy lifting, directing and organizing, simply notifying households when documents are available. I'm looking forward to leveraging my relationships to bring Digital Postal Mail to the masses."
The Digital Postal Mail system powered by Zumbox provides a household hub based upon a residential street address for all important digital mail received by consumers living at that address, enabling them to receive, view, archive and search digital postal mail in a single, secure, online environment. Digital Postal Mail is an exact facsimile of paper mail created from a redirection of the print stream delivered to a secure, centralized digital mailbox. The service includes convenient, powerful interactive features, such as online bill pay and a "Paperless, Please" badge to turn off their paper mail.
