Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/h742nm/2012_oem_market) has announced the addition of the "2012 OEM Market and Wallet Share" report to their offering.
All in all, the OEMs are estimated to have purchased $300 billion in semiconductors in 2011 and have used them to produce close to $2 trillion in electronic products. The largest customers of semiconductors are Apple, Samsung, and Hewlett Packard. This report provides OEM market share in their respective categories of electronics and also provides an estimate of each OEMs semiconductor purchases for 2011.
Apple was the largest consumer of semiconductors in 2011 with an estimated $23 billion spent on semiconductors for use in smart phones, audio players, tablets, and computers. Apple was followed by Samsung and Hewlett Packard respectively. The top 10 OEMs constituted close to 40 percent of total semiconductor purchases in 2011.
