SEATTLE, WA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/20/12 -- Vivacity (www.vivacity.net), a national leader in innovative solutions to engage consumers in enhancing their own health and wellness, announced today a collaboration with Mindbloom (www.mindbloom.com) to develop a series of multi-platform mobile applications. The applications will facilitate positive consumer behavior change by offering games, challenges, reminders and resources that help make the process of getting healthier fun, simple and effective. Mindbloom, an interactive healthy media company, will develop the consumer-driven mHealth solutions using its Life Improvement platform, which blends the principles of behavioral and cognitive science with social gaming.
"Vivacity's collaboration with a mobile health technology leader like Mindbloom speaks to our commitment to empowering and enabling consumers to live their healthiest lives," said Marcia Ridley, chief executive officer of Vivacity. "Vivacity is committed to meeting individuals wherever they are on their wellness journey and this series of apps will make healthy lifestyle choices as accessible to consumers as the smart phone in their pockets."
Many people already use their smartphones to count calories, gauge nutrition, track workouts and quit smoking. However, not everyone is an ultra-marathoner or dedicated calorie counter. Vivacity's collaboration with Mindbloom will take mHealth technology to the next level and make healthy living support fun, simple and effective for people of all health and fitness levels.
Today, Mindbloom released the first app in collaboration with Vivacity called JUICE, an iPhone app which tracks people's energy in order to help them assess common energy zappers and provides relevant nutrition, sleep, exercise, mood, stress and life balance tips from top tier experts (see related release titled "Mindbloom Launches Easy and Fun Energy Tracking iPhone App to Kick Start Healthy Habits." Check out the video for a quick JUICE introduction. All apps will be available for free download in the Apple iTunes store and other online application stores.
"As consumers' appetites for mHealth apps increase, Mindbloom and Vivacity have come together to offer the perfect combination of art, technology and science to engage them to actively participate in their own well-being," said Mindbloom founder, Chris Hewett, a former executive producer for Monolith Productions who developed blockbuster hits such as No One Lives Forever, Tron 2.0, and F.E.A.R. "It's an exciting time to see smartphones shift into health and wellness devices and we look forward to collaborating with Vivacity on applications that inspire people to define what's important, discover what motivates them, and take meaningful daily actions in all areas of their life."
