The Digital Development Group Corp. (OTCBB:DIDG) (“DigiDev” or the “Company”), an Internet TV distribution company, announces the launch of commercial operations with its first channel.
DigiDev is targeting the rapidly expanding and revolutionary “OTT” technology arena. “OTT” or Over The Top devices piggyback on existing network services in consumers’ homes or offices, pull content from the Internet and deliver it to their TV or Internet enabled device. DigiDev will use OTT technology to deliver movies, games & apps to billions of desktops, mobile and smart/Internet enabled TV devices around the World.
“After many months of fine tuning our platform we are proud to announce the launch of our first channel,” stated Martin W. Greenwald, CEO. “This is a significant milestone for the Company, transitioning from a development stage to the realization of our business model: generation of revenue. We are confident we’ve launched at the perfect time on the heels of the enormous growth at Netflix (a streaming provider), as well as Amazon’s commitment to increase their new content investment to fuel demand on their streaming platform. We believe that 2013 will be a 'tipping-point' for the industry,” continued Greenwald.
“2013 will see the OTT space explode, and for us the rollout of our first commercial channel is just the beginning. In addition to this launch, DigiDev has licensed content libraries with over a dozen more unique suppliers. Content will drive this market, as it has every technology before it. Our goal is to aggregate scores of programming to satisfy consumer appetite. Brands such as Apple Tv, Google Tv, Roku and others have become 'must have' gifts for this Holiday Season. Samsung, LG and others have rolled out internet enabled 'Smart' TVs and indications are that consumers have flocked to them.”
“I have been in the content distribution business since the '70s and have never seen a technology with greater potential. To capture the predicted global demand for niche and mainstream content, DigiDev has secured worldwide distribution rights in many of its agreements.”
“The timing of this opportunity is interesting as we are benefiting from widespread high speed internet access along with a consumer desire to have an on-demand and a-la-carte viewing experience. The 'Cable-Cutters' have been migrating towards OTT and that trend is accelerating,” concludes Mr. Greenwald.
The current OTT universe is 300 million users and will experience 100% growth annually for the next 5 years to a market of 4.8 billion devices.
Joe Q. Bretz, President and leader of the technology group stated, “I am proud of what our team has done in a short period of time, but it is merely a taste of things to come. Please visit www.digidev.tv at your convenience and explore our first offering in what promises to be a large compilation of independent content ranging from classic horror films to Oscar Winning Documentaries.”
