BREA, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/27/12 -- Kanex®, a leader of innovative Apple® and iOS connectivity solutions for homes and businesses worldwide, today announced two new USB 3 solutions including the 4-Port USB 3 Hub and the USB 3 Gigabit Adapter. These new USB 3 solutions provide users with additional USB 3 ports or a Gigabit port for their Mac or PC.
NPD In-Stat research forecasts SuperSpeed USB-enabled device shipments will surpass one billion in 2014, up from 70 million last year. "Our customers are asking us for solutions to connect the growing number of USB 3 devices," said Kelvin Yan, president of Kanex. "Our new USB hub and adapter enables our customers to extend their capabilities at home, in the office or on the road. We want to help our customers solve their technology challenges by enabling more ports or giving them ports that their computers may not have."
Kanex 4-Port USB 3 Hub
The Kanex 4-Port USB 3 Hub easily adds four SuperSpeed USB 3 ports to a Mac or PC and speeds up the way users can move data, movies and music between their computer and devices. With SuperSpeed transfer rates up to five Gigabits (5 Gbps) per second, users can connect their USB 3 external hard drives, digital cameras, MP3 players and more while getting up to 10 times faster transfer speeds than USB 2. For fast charging, the USB hub includes a 2.1-amps power port so users can charge devices such as the iPad*, smart phones, cameras and other mobile devices.
Kanex USB 3 Gigabit Adapter
The Kanex USB 3 Gigabit Adapter adds a Gigabit Ethernet port to your MacBook Air, MacBook Pro with Retina Display or any other USB 3 enabled computer. Ideal for hotel rooms or conference rooms with a wired internet connection, this small and compact adapter connects to a USB 3 port on a computer and provides an RJ-45 port for connection to the Internet or local area network for sharing and accessing files at data transfer rates of up to 1 Gbps. The USB 3 Gigabit adapter is also backwards compatible with USB 2 and USB 1.1 and supports Wake-on-LAN.
Pricing and Availability:
The 4-Port USB 3 Hub and the USB 3 Gigabit Adapter are available for $59 and $49 MSRP respectively, through leading retailers and our website at www.kanexlive.com/usb3hub4x and www.kanexlive.com/usb3lan.
