Farmers & Merchants Bank has launched its new mobile banking app as part of an extensive initiative focused on enhancing its technology infrastructure and increasing security and convenience for customers. The 105-year-old bank also rolled out a new generation of “smart” ATMs and is offering a suite of new technology and security enhancements for its business and retail customers.
“F&M is concentrating on enhancing its online and mobile banking services to provide our customers the same convenience and security larger banks offer, while holding true to our community roots,” said Ken Nagel, F&M’s Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer.
Available on iPhone® and Android™ smartphones, as well as iPad and iPod Touch, FMB Mobile offers a robust profile of features on a secure, user-friendly app including:
- Remotely depositing checks through image capture via a smartphone camera
- Viewing account balances
- Searching recent account activity
- Transferring funds between eligible accounts
- Finding the nearest ATM or branch location
F&M will continue to offer new capabilities and enhanced services to its mobile offerings in the coming year.
F&M also completed the roll-out of a new generation of “smart” image-enabled ATMs at all branch locations this year. The new ATMs make depositing and withdrawing money more secure and convenient by eliminating the need for deposit slips or envelopes, printing scanned images of checks on the back of receipts, and accepting up to 30 bills and 10 checks in a single transaction.
Additionally in 2012, F&M launched a mobile banking site (m.fmb.com), implemented an SMS mobile alert system and rolled out an Image Cash Letter Service that enables business customers to scan checks at their processing location and securely transmit the images electronically for clearing.
“Since its founding in 1907, F&M has prided itself on superior customer service and personal relationships while remaining in step with new innovations,” said Dan Walker, F&M’s Chairman and CEO. “Banking has changed dramatically over the years, but F&M has remained true its core values of service, loyalty and integrity, always providing customers peace of mind and now bringing banking to the palm of their hand.”
