TROY, Mich., Dec. 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Plex Systems Inc., provider of Plex Online, Cloud ERP for manufacturers, today announced the release of IntelliPlex, a business-intelligence (BI) application that enables corporate executives to easily analyze customer and business information stored in their Plex ERP database and create reports anytime, anywhere to assist them in managing, forecasting and planning.
Plex Online now contains IntelliPlex, which allows executives to access data rapidly for data-driven decision making. IntelliPlex is automatically added to the Plex menu when users log into their Plex Systems ERP technology. IntelliPlex translates ERP operational data into graphical reports and dashboards that can be accessed in any number of ways to improve understanding of the data's implications across a company's operation.
"There is a palpable need across manufacturing organizations to access and leverage data in an increasingly on-demand and strategic capacity," said Jerry Foster, Plex Systems vice president of research and development. "Gone are the days when manufacturing executives could rely on stagnant and one-dimensional data analysis and reporting to answer their questions. IntelliPlex provides mobile and dynamic access to and consumption of data – getting the answers before the questions are asked – from the manufacturing floor to the C-suite faster and more cost-effectively."
Individual executives can choose the kind of graphical representation and filters they wish to see and customize their reports accordingly. The screen layouts can be customized, as well. IntelliPlex also allows executives to combine information from outside sources with their Plex Online data to further enrich their reports. Additionally, it enables unattended scheduled report distribution, allowing anyone to create a report and select a date and time for IntelliPlex to distribute it to one person or a group.
"As a Plex partner, we are excited to work with our Plex Online customers/users to gain greater business insight and make better, more confident planning, forecasting, and operational decisions with the new version of IntelliPlex," said Pat Welsh, Revolution Group director of manufacturing ERP solutions. "The new flexible design and distribution options allow customers to create customized executive dashboards. Through powerful 'active report technologies' our customers can interact with and analyze data in simple, but powerful ways."
Because IntelliPlex operates within Plex Online, users need only a Web browser to take advantage of its powerful BI capabilities, including detailed reports and charts with drill-down, sharing and off-line viewing and editing. It requires no installations and no downloads and is accessible directly from the Plex Online screen by any authorized individual, whether in the company's facilities or working remotely. Anyone in any department can be kept apprised of sales, production performance, goals or any other metrics vital to productivity by viewing easy-to-understand IntelliPlex reports. IntelliPlex is highly secure, integrating with Plex Online security.
IntelliPlex also can deliver reports to mobile devices, including iPad, iPhone and laptop computers, where they can be dynamically reviewed. Users no longer are limited to a static presentation of the report.
