WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Dec. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Citysearch, the leading online local guide and an operating business of IAC (Nasdaq: IACI), today announced the 2012 Best of Citysearch winners in the shopping category. Citysearch users voted for their favorites in different categories depending on their market, including best vintage shop, menswear, kids' shop, high-end boutique, home decor, consignment store, jewelry, shoes and more, in 10 top cities nationwide.
Citysearch unveiled a more visual and more informed Best of Citysearch experience this year with built in responsive design. Nominees are selected by Citysearch Scouts, in-the-know experts in each major city -- from food writers and culture bloggers to civic experts -- who provide Citysearch users with ongoing informed recommendations and content. The new Best of Citysearch also includes more visual and written content about each nominee including why they were selected, allowing users to easily find, consider and weigh-in on the best local businesses in their area.
"For the first time we enabled our users to vote via their mobile device on the places they'd most recommend in their city, offering a more flexible and convenient way to make their voices heard," said Kara Nortman, senior vice president of consumer businesses at CityGrid Media. "With nominees selected by our expert Scouts and thousands of votes cast, this year's list is truly an insider's shopping guide to what's hot in your city."
