WINNETKA, Calif., Dec. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- In an extension of its VoIP product offerings for mobile devices, Phone Power, a VoIP telecommunications provider of residential and business packages, has introduced its free Android calling app, which enables Android smartphone users to make international calls for little to nothing, save valuable mobile minutes, and access other call features that have been available to customers who use the iPhone calling app. The new Android app is a free calling app available for download in the Google Play marketplace and joins the Phone Power iPhone app available in the Apple iTunes Store.
Utilizing VoIP or Voice over Internet Protocol, the Android calling app delivers money-saving options for smartphones similar to those Phone Power customers access on their home phones. Features of the new Phone Power Android app include:
- Reduced cost for making international VoIP calls from smartphones
- Monitoring of international calling rates
- Access to account balances
- Voicemail and call forwarding
The calling app for Android underwent beta testing by 100 users and employees for six months and received excellent feedback before its release on Google Play.
"Today's customers demand mobility options in their phone service," said Jim Murphy, President of Phone Power. "We're allowing them to extend the savings and features of their home phone service to their mobile devices."
