DRESDEN, Germany, Dec. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ - ZMD AG (ZMDI), a Dresden-based semiconductor company that specializes in enabling energy-efficient solutions, today is proud to announce that it has received the prestigious Innovative Enterprise of The Year Award in the field of "Process Innovation" for 2012. It was presented by the President of Bulgaria. As a global supplier of analog and mixed-signal solutions for automotive, industrial, medical, mobile sensing, information technology and consumer applications, ZMDI fosters innovation via substantial investments in research and development.
"At ZMDI, we are proud of our rich history, our innovative spirit and our commitment to create products that enable energy-efficient solutions. It is a great honor to have been recognized for the Innovative Enterprise of the Year Award and, moreover, to have been given this prestigious award by Mr. Rosen Plevneliev, the President of Bulgaria. We are proud of this achievement as well as our engineers and their commitment to drive innovation and provide our customers with best-in-class semiconductor solutions," stated Frantz Saintellemy, President of ZMD America and Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Corporate Strategy for ZMDI. He noted that "we have received this award in a week when U.S. President Barak Obama has signed new energy efficiency legislation with regard to innovative manufacturing practices. ZMDI is indeed confident that energy efficiency begins at the chip level and that significant environmental improvements can be seen through the creation of more energy-efficient technologies. ZMDI strives to meet and exceed international energy-efficiency goals through innovative technology."
This award also comes in a year when ZMDI has been the recipient of two other awards: a Frost and Sullivan Award for New Product Innovation for ZMDI's highly innovative ZSSC1856 intelligent battery sensor IC and a Green Apple Award for Environmental Best Practice 2012 from The Green Organization in recognition for its "Intelligent Integrated Circuits for Fuel Savings Project." Each of these awards highlights ZMDI's commitment to energy efficiency, and the company intends to build on this momentum in the coming year. President Plevneliev presented the award to Anelia Pergoot, general manager for ZMD Eastern Europe. The award is organized by the ARC Foundation as the coordinator of the Enterprise Europe Network in partnership with the Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism in Bulgaria and is now in its eighth year.
