NEW YORK, Dec. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Eagle Thunder Entertainment is pleased to announce today's release of musician Robby Romero's Deluxe Edition single and music video for "Who's Gonna Save You" on iTunes. 100% of the profits from the sale of Romero's latest single will benefit the Project Protect Awareness Campaign dedicated to raising awareness about critical issues facing Mother Earth.
"Given the deadly fallout from the 2011 Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear disaster in Japan, record breaking heat waves, droughts, fires and floods this past summer and the cataclysmic Hurricane Sandy, the message of 'Who's Gonna Save You' is more than music and more than timely," says musician Robby Romero. "Who's Gonna Save You" presents an Indigenous perspective on a global crisis from the front lines of climate change. The single is the first in a series of musical releases that will support Project Protect through Native Children's Survival, which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Its mission is to support children's programs and other Indigenous organizations that are working to protect and support Indigenous Peoples and the environment.
"December 21, 2012 is a celebration of the end of an ancient mystic cycle and the recommencement of an Indigenous call to consciousness for the restoration of life in balance," continued Romero. The inspirational song was recorded at Shelter Island Sound in New York City by Grammy Award-winner Steve Addabbo. Grammy Award winning singer Lisa Fischer (The Rolling Stones, Luther Vandross), Dakota Romero and The Gwich'in Youth Choir from Arctic Village accompanied Robby Romero and his band Red Thunder on the track.
With powerful insights from Hopi elder Thomas Banyacya and Onondaga Faithkeeper Chief Oren Lyons, the music video was shot on location in New Orleans, Louisiana. Featured artists in the video include New Orleans' first music family member Aaron Neville, Jr., singer Dakota Romero, and PBS Native News Magazine series host and co-producer Stacey Thunder.
