2013 CES on CNET: Five Full Days Of Streaming Video Including Live Press Conferences, Keynotes, Tech Product Spotlights, Interviews And Behind-the-Scenes Booth Tours At The Largest Tech Show

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- CNET will deliver five full days of streaming video coverage, breaking news, hundreds of blog posts and thousands of photos as the official digital news and video partner of the 2013 International CES.  The 2013 CES will feature more than 3,000 tech companies from around the world unveiling the latest devices and services. The conference sets the stage for 2013 in tech, with announcements covering everything from televisions, car technologies, and cameras to tablets, gaming gear, apps, and more.

The CNET Stage, located in the upper level lobby of South Hall 3, will be the focal point for live programming and special events, including product demos, interviews with industry executives and live streaming of some of CNET's most popular shows, including "Always On" with Molly Wood and "The 404." CNET's Editor-at-Large Brian Cooley and Molly Wood will host the "Next Big Thing" SuperSession, now in its tenth year, at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, Jan. 8.  The SuperSession will feature some of the industry's most notable executives and influencers, including entrepreneur Mark Cuban, LG Electronics USA's Senior Vice President of Marketing James Fishler, Ford Motor Co.'s futurist, Sheryl Connelly and Sprint's Senior Vice President, Product Development and Operations, Fared Adib. The panel is titled "The Post-Mobile Future:  Mapping the Next Frontier of Consumer Electronics."  The lively panel will explore technologies that go beyond handheld devices and discuss what the future will look like as always-on connections and products as services converge to transform our daily tech lives.

Also at the CNET Stage, CNET's Editor-in-Chief of Reviews Lindsey Turrentine and Editor at Large Brian Cooley will host a panel titled "The Next Interface: You" at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, Jan. 9. The panel will feature Fitbit CEO James Park, Leap Motion co-founder and CEO Michael Buckwald and Nest founder and VP of Engineering Matt Rogers discussing how humans will interact with the next generation of devices using their bodies instead of traditional input devices like keyboards and mice.

We are reaching the end of the beginning with WebRTC and real systems using this technology have begun to appear. One challenge that faces every WebRTC deployment (in some form or another) is identity management. For example, if you have an existing service – possibly built on a variety of different PaaS/SaaS offerings – and you want to add real-time communications you are faced with a challenge relating to user management, authentication, authorization, and validation. Service providers will want to use their existing identities, but these will have credentials already that are (hopefully) irreversibly encoded.
