LAS VEGAS, NV -- (Marketwire) -- 01/07/13 -- At today's 2013 International CES, Slacker, the most complete music service, announced that Chrysler Group has joined the rapidly growing list of leading auto makers that intends to integrate Slacker into their in-car entertainment systems. Slacker gives Chrysler Group's Uconnect system access to more than 350 expert-programmed stations, news, talk and sports from ESPN and ABC, plus its extensive music catalog. Feature availability and timing are not being disclosed.
"Slacker is excited to bring the most complete music service on earth to Chrysler's Uconnect 8.4AN and 8.4A system," said Jonathan Sasse, senior vice president of products and programming for Slacker. "Slacker brings Chrysler owners anytime, anywhere access to millions of songs, hundreds of expert-programmed stations and endless customization with the latest news, sports and entertainment from ESPN and ABC."
The new feature -- which accommodates updates -- integrates Slacker with the vehicle's Uconnect Access system. Content is streamed through the customer's existing smartphone data plan, leveraging the high-quality sound systems featured in all Chrysler Group vehicles equipped with Uconnect Access.
Content personalization is easy. Favorites can be identified using Slacker's "Heart" button. And tunes that try a customer's patience can be blocked using the "Ban" button.
Chrysler is the first in a series of major foreign and domestic auto brand partnerships Slacker will announce in 2013. The announcement follows recent partnerships with other automakers to bring the Slacker service to some of the most popular vehicles in North America. They join a suite of mobile devices and consumer electronics products that feature Slacker.
