LAS VEGAS, Jan. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Seal Shield LLC (Jacksonville, FL), today announced the Sea Lion™ waterproof case for the iPhone® 5. Developed for the healthcare market, The Sea Lion™ is the world's first waterproof phone case with antimicrobial product protection. The Sea Lion's sealed, form-fitted polycarbonate shell is light weight and durable, providing maximum shock protection in an attractive and unobtrusive design. The Sea Lion™ case makes the iPhone® 5 one hundred percent waterproof, fully submersible and washable, while providing complete functionality of all phone features. Utilizing Silver Seal™ technology, the Sea Lion™ contains an antimicrobial, fungistatic additive which reduces the growth of mold, mildew and odor causing bacteria on the product's surfaces.
Smart phone and tablet devices have been proven to harbor harmful bacteria and viruses. According to Dr. Jeffrey Cain, Chief of Family Medicine at Children's Hospital Colorado, "Bacteria and other infectious agents on a phone can cause Flu, Pinkeye or Diarrhea." Hospitals have been rapidly expanding their use of tablets, smart phones and other personal devices, but have found that those devices represent a challenge for infection control efforts.
"Our healthcare customers are demanding infection protection for their cell phones and tablets," states Seal Shield CEO and Chairman, Brad Whitchurch. "We developed the Sea Lion for healthcare, but its unique features also make it the ideal solution for active lifestyles," he concludes.
The Sea Lion™ is currently in stock and available from major resellers and distributors worldwide at a suggested retail price of $79.99 US. The product is one of several new waterproof and antimicrobial solutions that Seal Shield will be introducing at the Consumer Electronics Show, beginning January 8, 2013 in Las Vegas, NV. Other new products include waterproof headsets and ear buds as well as waterproof solutions for iPhone® 4, iPhone® 4s, iPhone® 5, iPad® 2, New iPad®, iPad Mini®, and Samsung® Galaxy® S III.
Seal Shield designs, develops and manufactures medical grade, infection prevention technology for hospitals and the home, including waterproof keyboards, mice and TV remotes. Seal Shield is a world leader in infection control technology, specializing in washable electronics and antimicrobial science. For more information please visit http://www.SealShield.com/
