KT seleciona a solução de Gerenciamento de Políticas (PCRF) da líder de mercado da Tekelec para suas redes LTE e 3G

A operadora sul-coreana de telefonia móvel, Korea Telecom, está instalando em sua rede a solução de gerenciamento de políticas (PCRF) da líder de mercado Tekelec para suas redes LTE e 3G. O servidor de gerenciamento de politicas de negócios suportará o novo serviço de voz da KT sobre sua nova rede LTE (VoLTE) proporcionando novos planos de dados LTE além de serviços diferenciados de comunicação (Rich Communication Suite).

A Coréia do Sul hoje é o segundo maior mercado do mundo em LTE e um dos mercados de telefones celulares mais avançados do mundo. Cinco meses após o lançamento do seu serviço de dados LTE, a KT ultrapassou a marca de um milhão de assinantes LTE. Em sua caminhada de sucesso a operadora ultrapassou três milhões de assinantes LTE em meados de novembro e quatro milhões de assinantes ao fim de 2012. Cerca de 63% dos assinantes de sua rede 3G e LTE utilizam smartphones e, em dezembro, a operadora lançou o iPhone® da Apple 5, que ganhou uma popularidade sensacional.

A solução de gerenciamento de políticas (PCRF) Tekelec suportará o controle de dados diário e mensal para uma variedade de serviços, incluindo voz, o uso da Internet, transferência de arquivos, mensagens instantâneas e vídeo telefonia. O acompanhamento diário dará à KT maior flexibilidade para oferecer pacotes customizados e opções de serviço para 3G, LTE e RCS - uma raridade na indústria.

O acordo expande a presença da solução de gerenciamento de políticas Tekelec a um novo país na região da Ásia-Pacífico. A empresa já possui outros clientes na região como Índia, Austrália, Nova Zelândia e Singapura.

Globalmente, as soluções políticas da Tekelec atendem a mais de 60 prestadores de serviços, incluindo mais de 50 operadoras consideradas Tier 1, em 35 países.
