New features in Soonr Workplace

Smart File Locking: Microsoft Office files are automatically locked when a user begins editing files locally, preventing conflicting versions of a single file from being generated by other Team Members. Similarly documents are unlocked when the documents are closed from within Microsoft Office.

Document Scan: Soonr Workplace now enables high-quality document scanning. Upon activation, Soonr’s document scanning leverages a mobile device’s camera to capture the document image which is then automatically uploaded to the cloud where it can be stored as a multi-page PDF and shared with Team Members who have access to the project.

Full-resolution video playback on iPad: All iOS compatible video files, including HD formats, are progressively downloaded at their full native resolution from the Soonr service to an iOS device, allowing users to experience the full impact of video content without being required to wait for the entire file to download. Videos that have been “Favorited” are downloaded in full native resolution locally for offline viewing.

iWorks Rendering Support: The iOS version of the Soonr Workplace mobile app has been enhanced to enable rendering of the full iWorks suite, meaning users can fully display and work with iWorks Pages, Keynote and Numbers files on an iPad or iPhone.

QR Code Support: The Soonr Workplace mobile app now fully supports QR codes, by enabling any file or folder stored in Soonr Workplace to have an associated QR code. The QR codes generated by Soonr Workplace can be communicated electronically or placed in public areas, allowing anyone with a mobile device capable of reading QR codes to easily access content shared in Soonr.

Soonr will be demonstrating these new features during the Macworld/iWorld 2013 show in booth MacIT S7 at the Moscone Center West, San Francisco, California, January 31st- February 2nd.
