Meru Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:MERU), a leader in virtualized wireless LAN solutions, today announced that three of its current board members had assumed new leadership positions on the company’s board of directors and its committees. Harold (Harry) Copperman, a member since 2010, has been named Lead Director. Chuck Kissner, a member since 2011, has been named Chairman of the Nominating and Governance Committee and Barry Newman, a member since 2006, has been named Chairman of the Audit Committee.

Harold (Harry) Copperman is an independent venture capital and private equity investor and was most recently president and chief executive officer at HDC Ventures Inc. Prior to that, Copperman held executive positions at Digital Equipment Corp., JWP Information Services, Commodore Business Machines Inc., Apple and IBM.

Chuck Kissner serves as chairman of Aviat Networks, where he previously served as chief executive officer. Prior to that, he served as chairman and chief executive officer of Stratex Networks and held executive positions at M/A-COM, Inc., Aristacom International, Fujitsu Network Switching, Inc., and AT&T. He serves on the board of ShoreTel, Inc., Rambus, Inc., and KQED Public Media and was previously a director of SonicWALL, Inc.
Barry A. Newman has served as vice chairman of the technology group at Bear Stearns, and held executive positions at Banc of America Securities, Nationsbanc Montgomery Securities, Salomon Brothers, Salomon Smith Barney, Anthem Partners and Odyssey Partners. He serves on the boards of StudyDog, Inc., and CollabRx, Inc., is the managing director of Rutberg and Company, L.L.C. and is the founder and chairman of the board of Erie Engineering Products, Inc.
