The Rutgers University Television Network (RU-tv) is now broadcasting "The Rutgers Channel," comprised of locally-originated university programming, to millions of Roku viewers around the world. "Finally we can offer the RU-tv viewing experience to students who live off-campus," says Brent Smith, RU-tv's Assistant Director for Broadcast Operations. "Plus anyone with a Rutgers connection who has moved away, like our alumni."
RU-tv's dedicated Roku channel, as well as its online video player for laptops and mobile devices like the Apple® iPad®, is powered by the TelVue® CloudCast service, which delivers streaming video to multiple viewing devices.
