NEW YORK, March 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Aquavit Pharmaceuticals Inc. has announced its newest addition to its management team, Dr. David Shafer. He has been appointed Chief Medical Technology Officer and will be leading Aquavit's R&D Medical Technology for Aquavit's product pipeline.
Prior to joining Aquavit, Dr. Shafer launched the world's first Vectra XT 3D Imaging System, allowing patients to view a 3D simulated breast augmentation, liposuction, mommy makeover, facelift, rhinoplasty, and virtually any procedure on their own body prior to their surgery.
Dr. Shafer's passion for innovation, technology, & improving the overall patient experience, has led him to create the world's first-ever plastic surgery themed iPhone application. The App features over 1000 interactive FAQs about plastic surgery – from invasive surgeries to non-invasive procedures. Dr. Shafer has described today's plastic surgery patient as "sophisticated, inquisitive and information seeking", and created this resource with them in mind. With an eye for achieving natural looking results, Dr. Shafer has repeatedly been voted TOP DOC for Botox, Liposuction, Tummy Tuck, and Facelift among many other categories. W Magazine also picked up on the buzz, and featured Dr. Shafer as a "Beauty Talent soon to be on your speed-dial."
"We are thrilled to have Dr. Shafer leading our medical technology pipeline development," said Sobin Chang, Aquavit's Chief Executive Officer. "Dr. Shafer will provide us with valuable input for all of our Commercial Planning and Operational needs, in addition to building KOL advocacy with Dr. Steven Fagien, our Chief Medical Officer."
Dr. Shafer is a NYC double board certified plastic surgeon, a Diplomat of the American Board of Plastic Surgery & a Member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He is trained in all aspects of plastic and reconstructive surgery, but specializes in aesthetic surgery. He was trained at the world renowned Mayo Clinic, which is consistently ranked as the best in class for hospitals and surgical training. Additionally, he completed a prestigious fellowship at MEETH, making him an expert in Aesthetic Surgery.
