"We're excited to bring our unlimited access plans and the convenience of the Next Issue app to Windows 8 devices," said Morgan Guenther, CEO of Next Issue Media. "With Windows 8, we're able to offer an outstanding user experience including pinning, multi-tasking with snap view, and more."
In addition to supporting the new Windows user interface, Next Issue is harnessing the power of the platform. Users can pin their favorite titles to the Start screen for easy access. Once in the app, they will experience a spacious new library layout, which also features recent back issues. Users will receive notifications when new issues are available and can take advantage of multi-tasking with snap view. Live tiles with rotating covers of the latest issues will be coming soon.
"The Next Issue app works beautifully on our platform and offers an incredible value to Windows 8 users," said John Richards, senior director of Windows Apps Marketing for Microsoft Corp. "With greater choice as to where, when and how they access their magazines, users can seamlessly switch from their tablet at home, to their Ultrabook on the road, to their company PC — all on a single account."
Next Issue for Windows 8 is available free for 30 days, offering a choice of Unlimited Basic or Unlimited Premium plans. The Unlimited Basic plan includes access to all monthly and bi-weekly titles for just $9.99 per month while the Unlimited Premium plan offers access to all 82 titles in the catalog, including the weekly titles, for $14.99 per month.
