Tokyo, Mar 21, 2013 - (JCN Newswire) - JCB, the only global payment brand based in Japan, announced the release of its free JCB Privilege Guide Indonesia smartphone application for JCB cardmembers in Indonesia. The guide provides access to location-based deals and offers using GPS locator functionality.
JCB offers JCB Guide smartphone apps for Hawaii, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York, San Francisco, and Korea in Japanese. The JCB Japan Guide has been available in English since April 2012, and Chinese versions serve the 8 million JCB cardmembers living in mainland China and Taiwan.
"This app is designed for our customers living in Indonesia so they can take advantage of all the privileges available to JCB cardmembers in their own country. In the past we focused mainly on providing cardmembers traveling abroad with information on special offers in their destination," explained Tac Watanabe, Executive Vice President, Brand Infrastructure & Technologies at JCB.
Now that the economy and working population in East Asia and Southeast Asia are growing significantly, JCB is actively enhancing its cardmember base in partnership with local financial institutions to serve consumers in other markets in addition to Japan, China and Taiwan. Bank Internasional Indonesia is currently issuing JCB Platinum cards to preferred customers in Indonesia. "We hope the new smartphone app will make even more people want to apply for a JCB card because of the full lineup of services. JCB is planning on developing more special offers and privileges with merchants outside Jakarta and Bali, for example in Surabaya and Bandung in the near future," Watanabe said.
The app includes these major functions:
-- Restaurant, shop and other merchant search
You can search for over 100 merchants in Jakarta and Bali that give special offers to JCB cardmembers by map location, genre and merchant name. You can get a special offer by showing the merchant the screen and paying with JCB card. GPS locator function helps you find merchants near your present location. Offline search available for genre and merchant name.
-- Facebook and Twitter plugins so you can share your favorite shops, special deals and your experience at any time.
Availability:
-- Free download from the App Store for iPhone (iOS 4.3 up).
-- JCB Privilege Guide Indonesia is available in English.
