Azaleos Plugs iPhone 3G into Exchange E-mail

OneStop Services Allow Businesses to Effortlessly Manage iPhones Using Microsoft Exchange Server

Azaleos announced that its OneStop Services support the soon to be released iPhone 3G and provide seamless integration with Microsoft Exchange servers. Azaleos remotely managed services enable organizations to synchronize and centrally control 3G and firmware-upgraded first generation iPhones using their Microsoft Exchange infrastructure. Azaleos has a heritage of managing Windows and non-Windows mobile devices, including the Blackberry, which is supported by its MobileXchange service.

“The mass popularity of the iPhone has created an influx of these unmanaged devices onto business networks, which represents a major support and security challenge for IT departments,” said David Ferris, president and senior analyst of Ferris Research. “The ability to bring these devices under control with Microsoft Exchange and managed services from Azaleos is a significant step forward for organizations.”

With this announcement, customers can rely on Azaleos to extend Exchange connectivity and management to iPhone users on their network. Leveraging ActiveSync technology, Azaleos brings iPhone devices under the control of its OneStop service to manage an enterprise’s entire messaging environment. The benefits of OneStop and Exchange include constantly synced email, calendars and contacts; the ability to erase all data from lost or stolen iPhones using the Remote Wipe function; and enhanced IT control not available with IMAP or POP3 accounts.

Azaleos now provides a comprehensive set of monitoring and management services for mobile devices -- spanning iPhones, Blackberry and Windows Mobile devices. In addition, the Azaleos MobileXchange service continues to provide remote monitoring, management and administration of Blackberry Enterprise Servers.

“Managing iPhones with Microsoft Exchange addresses the huge support and security issues that have plagued IT departments for the past year,” said Scott Gode, Vice President of Product Management of Azaleos. “Azaleos customers can now bring these formerly rogue devices under the same management and policy control as their Windows mobile devices through the 24/7 Azaleos OneStop service.”

Azaleos OneStop Managed Services
OneStop services work with the Azaleos OneServer for Microsoft Exchange 2007, a high availability e-mail appliance that is managed remotely by experts in the Azaleos network operations center. A virtualized edition of OneServer based on the VMware virtualization infrastructure is also available that reduces the number of physical servers required to deploy Exchange 2007 from four to two.

OneStop Managed Services include:

  • ViewXchange, a real-time monitoring and reporting system for Exchange and its associated IT infrastructure.
  • ManageXchange, a remote command and control service that allows Azaleos technicians to monitor, manage, patch, troubleshoot and fix issues in a customer’s Exchange environment on a 24x7 basis.
  • MobileXchange, a turnkey mobile device management and monitoring solution for the Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES) that can be rapidly deployed to provide remotely managed 24x7 services.
  • ProtectXchange, a comprehensive anti-virus/anti-spam service powered by MessageLabs that prevents threats from penetrating the network and safeguards data from malicious interference.
  • RestoreXchange, services support complete dual-site disaster recovery capabilities, handling both dial tone and mail storage restoration to minimize the impact on employee productivity and business continuity.
  • ArchiveXchange, provides automatic archival and storage of e-mail from the Exchange server to secondary storage to improve performance and reduce costs. ArchiveXchange enables users to access older mail using Outlook, web browsers, or mobile devices.
